Comparison of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Open Cholecystectomy

Objective:To compare the clinical effectiveness of laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC) and open cholecystectomy(OC).Methods:The clinical records of 534 cholecystectomy patients who were in hospital between March in 2006 to March in 2009 were retrospectively analyzed.LC group was 278 patients and OC group was 256 patients.The operation effectiveness and postoperative complications of the two groups were compared.Results:The surgery durations were shorter,the bleeding volumes in operation were less and the postoperative evacuating time was earlier of LC group than those of OC group(P0.05).There were 8 and 13 patients who had the postoperative complications of LC and OC respectively.And incidence rate of postoperative complications in LC group was 2.9% lower than 5.1% in OC group(P0.05).Conclusion:LC has advantages of less trauma,shorter operation duration and less postoperative complications than OC,and is worth to apply widespread in clinical.
