Comparison of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and traditional open cholecystectomy

Objective To compare the clinical effect of laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC) and open cholecystectomy(OC).Methods The clinical data of 534 cholecystectomy patients who were in hospital between February 2010 to March 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients were divided into the control group and the experiment group according to the treatment method.The experiment group(278 patients) was given LC and the control group(256 patients) was treated by OC.The operation effect and postoperative complications of the two groups were compared.Results The surgery durations were shorter,the bleeding volumes in operation were less and the postoperative evacuating time was earlier of the experiment group than those of the control group(P 0.05).There were 8 and 13 patients who had the postoperative complications respectively of the experiment group and the control group.And incidence rate of postoperative complications in the experiment group was 2.9 % lower than 5.1 % in control group(P 0.05).Conclusion LC has advantages of less trauma,shorter operation duration and less postoperative complications than OC,and is worthy of clinical promoted application.
