Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of Preoperative psychological interventions among 7~12 year old children. Methods Forty five children were divided randomly into intervention group (22 children) and control group (23 children), their mental status after entering operating room, hemodynamic changes in the period of anesthesia induction, during surgery and at 24h, 48 h after operation were observed and recorded. Results Children in intervention group were quieter after entering operating room and could cooperate with medical staffs in preoperative preparations such as puncture of peripheral vein, puncture of jugular vein or radial vein in the conditions of local anesthesia;their hemodynamic changes in the period of anesthesia induction, during surgery and at 24h, 48 h after operation were smaller than children in the control group. Conclusion Preoperative psychological intervention could prevent children from preoperative tension, decrease their hemodynamic changes in the period of anesthesia induction, during surgery and after operation and decrease complications due to the increased use of drugs before anesthesia.
