Clinical observation of Fluoxetine in treatment of Parkinson disease patients with depression

Abstract

Objective: To explore the clinical curative effect of Fluoxetine on Parkinson disease(PD) patients with depression.Methods: 80 patients with PD were selected from April 2007 to January 2009,which were randomly divided into treatment group(40 cases) and control group(40 cases),the treatment group was given Fluoxetine,and the control group was given symptomatic treatment without antidepressant.Results: After 6 weeks treatment HAMD scores of treatment group were significantly lower than the control group(P0.01),using Fluoxetine in the treatment of patients with depression had significant efficacy than the control group(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion: The treatment of PD patients in depression with Fluoxetine has obvious effect,PD patients are well tolerated,may improve depressive symptoms in patients with rapid improvement.
