Factor Analysis of the Medical Expenses of 20 Diseases Inpatients

Objective: To explore the main controlling factors of the medical expenses of 20 diseases inpatients to provide the theoretical basis and practical implications of controlling the overage rise of the medical expense.Method: 1 043 cases of the 20 diseases in sixty-two hospitals selected by Ministry of Health are sampled.The medical expenses of the inpatients are analyzed by the factor analysis method.Results: Factors of operation,examination and laboratory test,factors of diagnosis and medicine,and factors of nursing and treatment are the three public factors influencing medical expenses.Conclusion: Medicine expenses,treatment expenses,and examination and laboratory test expenses must be especially decreased to control the overage rise of the medical expenses.
