Analysis of medical expenses of 10 systematic diseases in order inpatients proportions with factor method

Objectives: To find key factors influencing inpatients’ medical expenses and to control medical expenses irrationalincreasing. Methods: All inpatients cases in a tertiary hospital in 2006 were selected. The first 10 systematic diseases expenses wereanalyzed by factor analysis. Results: Factors of medicine treatment, radiation examination, laboratory test and special examination,operation and blood transfusion, treatment and bed occupation, nursing are the four public factors influencing medical expenses.Conclusions: Medicine treatment, radiation examination, laboratory test and special examination would be considered to decreaseto control medical expenses irrational increasing.
