Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease combined with respiratory failure. Methods 30 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease combined with respiratory failure treated in our hospital between January 2005 to January 2009 were randomly divided into the combination therapy group and Western medicine control group. Both of the two groups were given routine Western medicine treatment, the combination therapy group was added Phlegm stasis, spleen Qi in traditional Chinese medicine.Efficiency of treatment and blood gas analysis results were observed. Results The treatment group's markedly effective, effective and ineffective were 6,8,1 cases respectively, the total efficiency was 93.3%;in the control group, the markedly effective, effective and ineffective were 4,6,6 respectively, and the total efficiency was 66.7%,there was statistically significant difference between the two groups(p0.05).In the treatment group, partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2) was improved significantly, which was better than the control group, the differences was statistically significant(p0.05).Conclusion The treatment of combination of Chinese and Western medicine has a good effect to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease combined with respiratory failure.
