Abstract
With sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride as raw material, hexadecy trimethylammonium bromide as catalyst, benzyl cinnamate is synthesized directly under normal pressure and microwave irradiation. The effects of amount of catalyst, power and time of microwave irradiation on yield are studied. The most suitable reaction conditions were that , the molar ratio of sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride was 1.0∶1.2, the amount of hexadecy trimethylammonium bromide was 1.0 and the microwave irradiation time 30 min with the power of 300 W. The yield of benzyl cinnamate was over 80%.
