Abstract
With sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride as raw material, tetrabutylammonium broumide as catalyst, benzyl cinnamate was syntheˉsized directly under normal pressure and microwave irradiation. The effects of amount of catalyst, power and time of microwave irradiation on yield were studied. The most suitable reaction conditions were that with0.05mol sodium cinnamate, the mole ratio of sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride was1.0∶1.2,the amount of tetrabutylammonium bromide1.0g/0.05mol sodium cinnamate and the microwave irradiation time25min with the power of300W.The yield of benzyl cinnamate was over83%.
