Abstract

This paper deals with three new species of Eriophyoidea from China. The type specimens are deposited in the Nanjing Agricultural University.1. Diptacus cattaneae sp. nov. (figs. 1-6)The new species closely allied to Diftacus rubra Keifer, but distinguished by the following charaters: microtubercles lacking on tergites, with incomplete admedians recurving as a are line on shield, claw knobbed not distinctly and featherclaw 5-rayed on each side.Holotype ♀ taken in July 1984, from Guiping County (23°24'N, 110°5'E), Guangxi, by Feng Yuang-bia and Huang Liang-wei. Allotype♀ and paratypes 7♀♀, same as holotype. Host: Castanea vulgari var. japonica,2. Diptacus maackiae sp. nov. (figs. 7-11)This new species resembles Diptacus calif oryli (K.) Keifer, but differs from it in the shi- eld and coxae being smooth marking, featherclaw 6-rayed and female genitalia with longitudi-nal ribs on coverflap bisely.Halotype ♀ taken in August 1983, from Xingzi County (29°35'N, 115°59'E), Jiangxi, by Kuang Xai-yuan and Fung Yuan-bin. Paratype 5♀♀, same as holotype. Host: Maackia tenui-folia.3. Diptacus liquidambaris sp.nov. (figs. 12-16)This new species is similar to Diptacus sacramenta (K.) Keifer, but distinguished by the following characters: the shield smooth, featherclaw 5-rayed on each. side, and coverflap with longitudinal ribes in a rank.Holotype ♀ taken in August 1984, from Lin'an County (30°21'N, 119° 25'E), Zhejiang, by Zhao Jian and Gong Jin-nian. Paratypes 10♀♀, same as holotype. Host: Liquidambar formo-sana.
