Abstract

Developed from fine quality CMS line Jin 23A and a new fine quality restorer line 928, Jinyou 928 is a new fine quality hybrid rice combination with many good characteristics such as high and stable yield, good grain quality, fertilizer and cold tolerance, lodging resistance, strong ratooning ability, suitable maturity and wide adaptability. It was certified and released in Hubei Province in 1998. The total area under this hybrid from 1995 to 1999 amounted to more than 100 000 hm2 in China.
