Abstract

Jinyou 540, a new indica hybrid rice combination with good quality, high yield and late maturity, was developed by crossing male sterility Jin23A and restorer line Changhui 540. It is characteristic of good grain quality, cold tolerance, lodging resistance, high yield of seed production,and wide adaptability, its yield is equal to V46 and its maturity is earlier than that of V46 in February, 2005, it was certified by Hunan Crop Variety Release Committee.
