Abstract

Jinyou 974 (Jin 23A/To974), newly developed by the Hengyang Agricultural Research Institute of Hunan, is a fine quality indica hybrid rice for early cropping season in the area of double rice cropping pattern. It is characteristic of early maturity, high and stable yield, fine quality, good resistance and high seed production yield. It was released to farmers in February, 1999. Its cultural management and hybrid seed production techniques were also briefly introduced.
