Genetic analysis on ear length and ear diameter using mixed major gene plue polygenes inheritance model in maize

Abstract

PH6WC /7873(crosses I)and MX002/MS001(crossesⅡ)were employed to establish six genealgoicak populations(P1、P2、F1、B1、B2 and F2).The ear length and ear diameter of maize were analyzed by means of classic genetics and the majorgene + ploygene mixed inheritance model of quantitative traits.The results of analysis indicated that both of the ear length were controlled by suitable dominance-epistasis polygenes.The ear diameter of crosses I was controlled by additive-dominance-epistasis polygenes.The ear diameter of crosses Ⅱ was controlled by one additive mayjor gene and additive-dominance polygenes.The three segregating generations polygenes' heritability of the ear length in crosses I were 47.5%,51.1%,61.9%.The three segregating generations polygenes' heritability of the ear length in crosses Ⅱ were 64%,66%,56%.The three segregating generations polygenes heritability of the ear diameter crosses I were 57%,63%,67%.The three segregating generations polygenes heritability of the ear diameter crosses Ⅱ were 2.5%,2.1%,47.4%.The heritability polygenes were 39.9%,45.1%,8.0%.
