Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Fenci Decoction in treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods Patients in two groups were enrolled. The patients administered Fenci Decoction were enrolled into the treatment group, meanwhile compared with the oral Baixuan Xiataire Tablets combined with external Diwei Cream. The therapeutic efficacy, the situation of adverse events, recurrence and the leve of sex hormones were compared. Results The total effectiverate was 94.2% in treatment group, higher than the control group 78.9%(P0.05). All the two groups could adjust the sex hormones, without a significant difference. There were little and light adverse events in two groups. However the incidence of skin scaling occurred less in treatment group than control group, with a significant difference(P 0.05). After one year’s follow up, the recurrence rate was 7.99% in the treatment group and 14.38% in the control group, with a significant difference(P 0.05). Conclusion Oral administration and external application of Fenci Decotion has reliable efficacy and less adverse events in the treatment of acne vulgaris.
