Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of combined internal and external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of acne vulgaris.Methods 240 patients with acne vulgaris treated in the Outpatient of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department of Xinsi Central Health Center from January 2010 to January 2013 were randomly divided into 2 groups.The treatment group received the external application of 75% alcohol extract of traditional Chinese medicine ginkgo combined with the oral administration of self-prescribed loquat lung clearance drink.The control group received the oral administration of 0.25 g of tetracycline and 0.84 g of heat clearance acne tablets.Results In the treatment group,after 1 treatment course(28 days),82 patients were cured,31 patients improved and 7 patients did not improve,with the effective rate of 94%.In the control group,after 1 treatment course,29 patients were cured,54 patients improved and 37 patients were ineffective,with the effective rate of 69%.Statistical analysis showed that the two groups had statistically significant difference(P 0.05).Conclusion Combined internal and external application of traditional Chinese medicine shows good efficacy in the treatment of acne vulgaris,thereby worthy of promotion.
