Treatment Efficacy of Tension Free Vaginal Tape Obturator Technique in Females with Stress Urinary Incontinence

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the treatment efficacy of tension free vaginal tape obturator technique (TVT-O) in females with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods: Twenty-seven cases of female stress urinary incontinence treated with TVT-O procedure in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Of twenty-seven cases, 26 cases were cured with TVT-O (success rate: 96.3%). No hematoma or bladder injury was recorded during the procedures. Postoperative urinary retention was found in 3 patients (11.1%). Only one case failed TVT-O treatment during the follow up of 1 to 6 months. Conclusion: TVT-O seems to be an easy and minimally invasive procedure with less complication, which supports its safety and reliability in female urinary stress incontinence.
