Abstract

Objective: To determine the curative effectiveness and safety of tension-free vaginal tape-obturator procedure(TVT-O) as a new surgical treatment method for female stress urinary incontinence(SUI).Methods: 35 cases of female urinary stress incontinence underwent TVT-O procedure were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The mean operation time was 30 min and the volume of mean bleeding was 38 ml.The mean hospital stay was 3.5 d.All 35 patients were followed up for 3 to 30 months, and obtained a satisfactory continence. The clinical symptoms disappeared after operation, there was no incontinence relapse. Conclusion: TVT-O is an effective treatment for female urinary stress incontinence with advantage of simple operating, minimal invasion, safety, and few complication. It can be used first for treating female urinary stress incontinence.
