Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical value of glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) in screening gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods GDM patients and normal pregnant women were both selected 50 cases to detect the level of HbA1c,fasting plasma glucose,GCT and OGTT.ROC curve of GCT and HbAlc was used for statistical analysis of gestational diabetes mellitus. Results The values of GCT and HbA1c in GDM group were higher than normal pregnant women,a significant difference was found between the two groups,P0.01.Using the ROC curve analysis, when GCT level was 7.8 mmol/L,the sensitivity and specificity were 68.1%~73.8% and 62%~65.3%; when HbA1c value was 5.9%,the sensitivity and specificity were 73.2%~80.1% and 79.5%~83.1%.Conclusion HbA1c can be used as indicators of gestational diabetes screening, but it need to further expand the clinical studies, verify the cut-off point.
