Abstract

Objective To explore the safety and effectiveness of early use of enteral nutrition after esophageal surgery. Methods Ninty-eight cases of esophageal cancer aged 46-69 years, and ASAⅠ-Ⅱ,were divided into two groups;50 cases were managed with early use of enteral nutrition (EN),48 cases were given nutrition by way of veins.Complications, general recovery and the blood biochemrcal criteria after operation the wound healing and the days of in hospital between these in two groups. Results The general recovery and the blood biochemrcal criteria and peristalsis, the wound healing, the time of in hospital,in EN group was better than those in veins group(P0.05).Conclusions Early use of enteral nutrition after operation on esophageal cancer is safe, effective and practial, which can ameliorate the nutritive index.
