Clinical application of radiation Medicine in diagnosis and treatment of injury at Wenchuan Earthquake

Objective To study the applied value of radiation medicine in diagnosis and treatment of injury at Wenchuan Earthquake.Methods The imaging and clinical data of 155 patients of 192 patients in Wenchuan earthquake were retrospectively studied.Results 155 patients of 192 patients underwent X-ray plain film and CT examination.There were 116 cases with bone fracture,including single fracture(62 cases),multiple fracture(54 cases),compound fracture(11 cases) closed fracture(105 cases),dislocation of joint(3 cases),multiple region injuries(32 cases),skull fracture(3 cases),vertebral compression fracture(7 cases),vertebral bursting fracture(3 cases),pelvic fracture(13 cases),rib and clavicle fracture(26 cases),shoulder blade fracture(2 cases) and limb bone fracture(73 cases).There were 5 cases with contusion of lung,8 cases with pneumothorax and hydro-pneumothorax,2 cases with epidural hematoma,2 cases with contusion and laceration of brain,1 case with contusion of spleen.Conclusion X-ray plain film and CT examination can play an imp ortant role in diagnosis of earthquake-related injuries.
