Abstract
Shoot tips of seedless watermelon were used as explants to investigate the optimum medium for adventitious bud proliferation of seedless watermelon.Effects of five different concentrations of 6-BA,sucrose and IBA were evaluated by orthogonal rotation combination design based on the result of adventitious bud induction. The results revealed that IBA was the most important factor influencing adventitious bud proliferation.Next were sucrose and 6-BA in turn. The best culture media for adventitious bud induction and proliferation were 6-BA 2.0 mg/L+ IBA 0.1 mg/L and MS + 6-BA 1.98 mg/L + IBA 0.11 mg/L + sucrose 28.4 g/L,respectively.The adventitious bud induction coefficient was the highest 8.4 theoreticallly at 30 d of culture.
