Abstract
Objective To comparatively analyze the clinical effectiveness of nifedipine retard tablets and amlodipine besylate tablets for primary hypertension. Methods One hundred and twenty patients with primary hypertension were randomly assigned into observation group and control group. The observation group was treated by amlodipine besylate tablets, while the control group by nifedipine retard tablets. The blood pressure of patients were regularly measured and recorded. Results The total effective rate of observation group and control group was respectively 91.67% and 86.67%.The improvement of blood pressure, therapeutic effect, and adverse reaction of observation group were better or less than those of control group. Conclusion Amlodipine besylate tablets have better clinical effectiveness, less adverse reactions, longer duration of drug action, and are more suitable for elderly patients with hypertension;nifedipine retard tablets have relatively lower cost, are also a safe, effective and inexpensive antihypertensive, and may be used as preferred drug for low-income patients.
