Effect of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction on the Expression of Blood-lipid and Vasoactive Substances in the Rats with Atherosclerosis

To investigate the effect of Xuefu Zhuyu decoction on the expression of blood-lipid and vasoactive substances in the rats with atherosclerosis.Forty SD rats were randomly divided into control group,model group and treatment group(Xuezhikang group,Xuefu Zhuyu high-dose group,and Xuefu Zhuyu low dose group).The control group was fed with normal diet,model group a high-fat diet,treatment groups the high fat diet mixed with Xuezhikang,High dose and low dose Xuefu Zhuyu decoction respectively.The morphological changes of atheromatous plaque were observed 12 weeks later.The blood level of total cholesterol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein,high-density lipoprotein,and endothelin(ET) angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang Ⅱ) were tested at the same time.Compared with the model group,all the treatment groups could reduce the serum levels of total cholesterol,triglycerides,low density lipoprotein,ET and Ang Ⅱ(P0.05),and increase high-density lipoprotein(P0.05).It was found that Xuefu Zhuyu decoction could effectively regulate the serum level of lipidemia of AS rats,reduce the activity of vascular endothelial factors,and protecting the endothelium,and then prevent and cure atherosclerosis effectively.
