Abstract
By use of TK-2D software,2-D tidal current mathematical model with irregular triangular grids is set up in the sea area where deepwater channel of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port lies.On the basis of full validation and verification of the models with field data, the tidal current field is numerically simulated and studied on the deepwater channel project of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port. The development feasibility of deepwater channel is analyzed from the point of view of tidal current field. The study results show that the whole tidal current field in Lingdingyang Bay is basically unchanged except the slight change of local current velocity and direction near the Lingding channel axis affected by its excavation, and that the Lingding channel can be excavated further and the Phase III project of deepwater channel of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port is feasible from the point of view of tidal current force.
