Abstract

According to many years’ field measured data, characteristics of hydrology and sediment were analyzed in the sea area where the deepwater channel project of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port lies. By use of TK-2D software,2-D tidal current mathematical model with irregular triangular grids was set up in the engineering sea area. On the basis of full verification of the models with field data, the tidal current field was numerically simulated and studied on Phase Ⅲ Project of the deepwater channel of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port, and change of tidal current field caused by Phase Ⅲ Project of the deepwater channel was analyzed. The siltation strength and siltation volume were calculated after the Phase Ⅲ Project of the deepwater channel is brought into effect. The study results show that Phase Ⅲ Project of the deepwater channel of Nansha Harbor District of Guangzhou Port is fully feasible from the point of view of the change about tidal current and sediment.
