Study of Atorvastatin Combination Aspirin on Carotid Atherosclerosis Plaque Stability

Objective To investigate the effect of atorastatin combination aspirin on carotid atherosclerotic plaque and blood lipid.Methods Divide the 164 cases,in which carotid atherosclerosis plaque have been found with Color Doppler ultrasound,randomly into treatment group(83 cases),and comparison group(81 cases).Treatment group was used atorvastatin 20 mg/night and aspirin 100 mg/night,with treatment period of 12 months.Comparison group was applied the strategy of controlling the amount of food intake.The Atheroma Size,carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and blood lipid,liver and kidney function and fibrinogen and creatine phosphokiness were tested,in two groups before and afeter the treatment.Results The patients in 83 cases treated with atorvastatin and aspirin with 12 months had the TMT of the Atheroma drops from(1.89±0.23)mm to(0.98±0.24)mm,compared with comparison group differences were statistically significant(P0.01).The values of TC,TG and LDL-C,in the treatment group,had decreased significantly,compared with the results obtained before the treatment.Conclusion Atorvastatin and aspirin can help to cure the desease of atheroma by reducing the values of LDL-C,antagonism to inflammatory response,etc.
