Effect of different doses of atorvastatin to blood lipid and arotid plaque in patients with cerebral infarction

Objective To explore the effect of different doses of atorvastatin to blood lipid and arotid plaque in patients with cerebral infarction.Methods Eighty patients with cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group(40 cases) was given atorvatatin 20 mg,and the control group(40 cases) was treated with atorvatatin 10 mg on the base of routine treatment.Before and after treatment for 6 weeks,12 weeks,24 weeks to monitor the TC,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C level of carotid IMT,observed adverse reactions.Results The TC,TG,LDL-C decreased and carotid IMT minish after 6 weeks treatment of two groups,but there was significant difference(P 0.05) in 12 weeks,24 weeks.Conclusion 20 mg atorvastatin can more effectively lower TC,TDL-C levels,stability and narrow the carotid plaque than 10 mg atorvastatin does.
