Abstract

Objective To investigate the related factors of recurrent cerebral infarction. Methods 138 patients were divided into 3 groups: recurrent cerebral infarction group(group A,n=45),first-ever cerebral infarction group(group B,n=63) and control group(group C,n=30).The detail characteristics of patients were collected.Differences in characteristics of patients, laboratory studies and imaging studies among the three groups were compared by means of multiple Logistic regression analysis. Results The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that recurrent cerebral infarction was correlated with age, hypertension history, diabetes mellitus history, carotid artery stenosis rate and erythrocyte sedimentation rate. The Odds Ratios were 1.888,3.606,3.519,1.326 and 1.359,respectively.Conclusion The related factors of recurrent cerebral infarction are advanced age, hypertension history, diabetes mellitus history, carotid artery stenosis and increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
