Abstract

Objective To determine the contents of evodiamine and rutaecarpine in the water extract of Fructus Evodiae.MethodsThe samples were extracted with NH3-CHCl3 and the contents were determined by HPLC.The extrated fluid was performed on Agilent Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C18(4.6 mm×250 mm,5μm) column with the mobile phase of water-acetonitrile(49∶51) at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min.The detection wavelength was set at 225 nm.The column temperature was 25℃ and the injection volumn was 20 μl.ResultsEvodiamine had a linear range in the contents of 0.2 ~4.0 μg/ml,R =0.999 7.The average recovery was 101.50% and RSD was 1.93%;Rutaecarpine had a linear range in the contents of 0.5~6.0 μg/ml,R=0.999 9.The average recovery was 100.80%,and RSD was 0.72%.ConclusionThe method is convenient, accurate and satisfying in separating evodiamine and rutaecarpine. It can be used in determination of evodiamine and rutaecarpine in the water extract of Fructus Evodiae.
