Sclera buckling for the treatment of retinal detachment after vitrectomy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the indications and effects of sclera buckling for the treatment of retinal detachment after vitrectomy.Methods 47 cases with retinal detachment after vitrectomy were observed.Scleral buckling were performed to treat all these patients.The effects and complications were analyzed.Results Retinal reattachment were obtained in 40 cases after surgery.The visual acuity in 39 eyes were above 0.05 and the best corrected visual acuity was 0.8.Conclusion Sclera buckling is a safety and effective method for the treatment of retinal detachment after vitrectomy.
