Abstract
Objective To observe and analyze the clinical effects of scelral buckling operation treating long-standing retinal detachment.Methods 46 cases (48 eyes) diagnosed as long-standing retinal detachment were treated with scleral encircling and buckling,drainage combined with croytherapy operations.The data of postoperative retinal reattachment state,visual acuity and complications was analyzed.Results All cases were followed up for over 6 months.In 44 eyes,retina was reattached after 1 surgery (91.7%).In 34 eyes,best corrected postoperative visual acuity was above 0.05 (70.8%).Conclusion Scleral buckling opera-tion is a simple and effective method to treat certain kinds of long-standing retinal detachment.
