Effect observation of glucosamine combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of glucosamine combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods From January 2013 to June 2014,117 patients with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group.59 patients in observation group were given oral lucosamine combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate,while 58 patients in control group were given intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate alone.One course of treatment lasted for 5 weeks.Change of VAS score and Lysholm score before and after treatment and clinical curative effect was observed respectively in patients of two groups. Results VAS score of observation group was significantly lower than that of control group,Lysholm score was significantly higher than that of control group after treatment(P 0.05).After 6months treatment,the total effective rate of observation group(93.2%) was significantly higher than that of control group(77.6%)(P0.05). Conclusion Glucosamine combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis has a better curative effect than intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate alone.It is able to significantly improve the function of knee joint,promote osteoarticular repair,and alleviate pain of patients,which has clinical promotion value.
