The Golden Complex in WEN Ting-yun's Poems

Abstract

WEN Ting-yun's poems are famous for their colorful glamour.This is because WEN is good at using color words.Of all these words,he prefers golden.The word golden appears for 110 times in his poems,28 times in his lyrics,amounting to 33% and 43% respectively.We cannot explain such high frequency of using the word with coincidence.Through the analysis,the author finds that the word golden reflects not only WEN's ambition but his luxurious time.Moreover,it has exerted influences on the styles of the later lyrics.
