Abstract

Objective:To investigate the significance of p53 in papillary thyroid carcinoma.Methods:Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of p53 in 66 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma.Results:24 cases of positiveexpression of p53 were found in them.There were no significantly correlated of the expression of p53 with sex,age and neck lymthnode metastasis (P0.05).The expression of p53 was significantly correlated with invasion (P0.001).Conclusion:Since the p53 showed a positive correlation with invasion,it was considered an important prognostic indicator of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
