Analysis to Flag-warning of Automated Hematology Analyzer and Blood-smear Microscopy Examination

Abstract

Objective To discuss the relationship between Flag-warning of automated Hematology analyzer and the result of blood-smears microscopic examination.Methods 867 sample were analyzed with Beckman coulter LH-750 automated hematology analyzer.According to the flag-warning of LH-750,the abnormal samples were smeared,stained,and optical examined with microscope.We compared the results of the two methods.Results The positive rate of hematology analyzer's flag-warning is 21.3%,blood-smears microscopic examination is 9.2%.There were statistical meaning between the two methods(χ2=49.11,P0.01).But there were a little failed flag-warning for detecting immature Granulocyte,stab nucleus,viriant lymphocyte,eosinophil,monocyte,nucleated erythrocyte,etc.Conclusion The flag-warning of LH-750 automated hematology analyzer had a failed positive rate.The microscopic examination for abnormal sample based on flag-warning of hematology analyzer,can make sure to check out the positive samples,it can also correct the failed positive results.So we say morphological examination is a standard method.
