Abstract

Literary translation,as artistic translation, requests the translator to artistically represent the original and aesthetic qualities as well. The aesthetic object only exists in the aesthetic subject's aesthetic experience. As long as the original beauty can be grasped aesthetically by the translator,it can rouse the translator's aesthetic feelings and find its way into the aesthetic representation. The aesthetic equivalence between the original and the target in literary translation is an ideal to attain. The degree to which the aesthetic equivalence is realized depends on the execution of the translator's subjectivity and the original translatability. The paper aims to explore the extent of aesthetic equivalence and the relations between the translator's subjectivity and the aesthetic representation through analysis of the translation aesthetic subject's and translation aesthetic object's attributes from the perspective of translation aesthetics so as to figure out the essence of the aesthetic representation.
