Abstract

Translation, from the perspective of translation aesthetics,is an inter-lingual aesthetic representation which follows an artistic ex-periencing process of understanding, transferring, polishing and representation. The key to a successful aesthetic representation in translation iswhether a translating aesthetic subject can realize the artistic materialization of his aesthetic experience in the target text and find the best artistic expression for the source text.Through the analysis of two different English translation versions of Wang wei’s The Dale of Singing Birds, the present paper makes a tentative study of the aesthetic representation in the translation of the Chinese poetry of Tang dynasty.
