Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of batroxobin and low molecular weight hepacarin(LMWH) in the treatment of progressive stroke. Methods Fifty-seven patients with cerebral infarction, within 72 hours of the onset, were randomly divided into treated group(batroxobin with LMWH) and control group(LMWH).For treated group;batroxobin 10 BU intravenous drip at day 1;5 BU at day 3 and day 5;meanwhile,LMWH,0.4 mL,was injected subcutaneously, twice daily for 7 days in addition to routine treatment. The prothrombin time(PT),thrombin clotting time(TT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),fibrinogen(FIB) were measured before and after the treatment, the neurologic function deficits of the patients were evaluated before and four weeks after treatment. Results Progressive stroke occurred in one case in treated group, and seven in control group(χ2=4.97,P0.05).The FIB declined,PT,TT,and APTT elongated in the treated after treatment, but all were within normal limit. Conclusion Combined administration of batroxobin with LMWH can decrease the incidence of progressive stroke and promote the recovery of neurologic functions of the patients.
