Diagnosis and Treatment for Pregnancy Complicate with Hyperthyroidism

Abstract

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of the hyperthyroidism in the pregnant women.Methods 24 cases of pregnant women with hyperthyroidism were treated by oral anti-thyroid drug propylthiouracil(PTU).During the period of therapy,the level of the maternal thyroid function was measured strictly.According the maternal thyroid function,the amount of anti-thyroid drugs was adjusted.Results The hyperthyroidism was well controlled and the infant was healthy in 21 patients who received a standard anti-thyroid therapy.Three cases who received an unsatisfied therapy had serious complications.Conclusi-ons PTU was the best choice for the pregnant women with hyperthyroidism.It was very important to improve maternal and infant healthy by evaluating the maternal thyroid function frequently and reversed the amount of drugs based on the levels of FT3,FT4 and TSH.
