Clinical Study on Montelukast Combined with Betoken to Treat 60 Patients with Cough Variant Asthma in Children

Objective: To study the efficacy of montelukast combined with Ketotifen on the prevention of cough variant Asthma in children.Methods: 60 patients were treated with Ketotifen and montelukast sodium chewable tablets.Another 60 Patients who were taken Ketotifen orally served as control.After symptoms disappearing,Ketotifen treatment was ceased in both groups and montelukast administration continued till 2 months.Recurrence of cough,asthma conversion and adverse events had been followed up for 1 year.Results: The therapeutic efficacy in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P 0.05).The recurrent rate of cough asthma conversion and adverse events were less in the treatment group than those in the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion: Montelukast combined with Ketotifen has better effect on cough variant asthma with little side effect in children.It is worthy of clinical promotion.
