Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of transvaginal immature follicle puncture to the antral follicle count in the ovaries and the pregnancy rate of the polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) associated infertility.Methods:80 patients with PCOS which underwent ovulation induction with HMG were randomly divided into observation group and control group. Each group had 40 cases. The observation group were performed transvaginal immature follicle puncture when follicular diameters were 8 to 10 mm;The control group were given routine ovulation induction and were observed 6 months consecutively, the change of serum FSH,LH and T level were observed before and after the treatment.the antral follicle counts in the ovaries and pregnancy rate were compared between two groups. Results:The ratio of serum LH:FSH and T level had decreased in 21 cases and became normal in 5 cases in the observation group There were significant difference in ratio of serum LH:FSH and T level(P0.01)after this operation There was no difference in control group. The antral follicle counts decreased to less than 10 per single ovary in 40 cases in observation group,No OHSS was observed.Sixteen of them were pregnant within 6 months. There was no marked change in hormone level in the control group, and the antral follicle count was still more than 10 per single ovary. One patient had OHSS,and only three patients were pregnant. Conclusion:Transvaginal immature follicle puncture is an effective way for those patients with PCOS which failed with conventional therapy.
