Metronidazole Clotrimazole and Chlorhexidine Acetate Suppositories Combined with Transfer Factor Capsules for Recurrent Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of metronidazole clotrimazole and chlorhexidine acetate(MCCA)suppositories combined with transfer factor(TFC)capsules in the treatment of recurrent volvovaginal candidias(RVVC). Methods A total of 240 RVVC patients were randomly treated with MCCA suppositories alone(control group)or in combination with TFC capsules(treatment group) for two weeks. All patients were followed up for 3 months. Clinical efficacy, adverse events and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with control group, TFC capsules significantly increased the total effective rate(92.7% vs 81.0%,P0.05)and obviously decreased Sobel score and recurrence rate(P0.01).Adverse reactions were mild in both groups and the differences were not significant between the two groups(P0.05). Conclusion MCCA combined with TFC is a safe and effective treatment and can reduce the recurrence rate in RVVC.
