Clinical effects of combination of clotrimazole suppositories and living preparation of lactobacillus on vulvovaginal candidiasis

Abstract
The present paper aims to investigate the clinical effects of combination of clotrimazole suppositories and living preparation of lactobacillus on vulvovaginal candidiasis.A total of 84 patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,Jangsu Province Hospital on Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine were selected and divided into the control group and experimental group.There were 42 cases in each group.The patients in the control group were only given clotrimazole suppositories,while the patients in the experimental group were given clotrimazole suppositories and living preparation of lactobacillus.In the experimental group,2 cases were lost to follow-up,29 markedly effective,8 effective.The total effective rate was 88.10%.In the control group,3 cases were lost to follow-up,20 markedly effective,9 effective.The total effective rate was 69.05%.The effective rate in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05).The recurrence rate in the experimental group was 7.65%,significantly lower than 23.08% in the control group(P0.05).The results suggest that combination of clotrimazole suppositories and living preparation of lactobacillus is safe and effective in treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis.
