Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the methods and effects of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy. METHODS Practical data from 55 patients (62 eyes) with cataract and glaucoma were analyzed. They were treaded with phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy. RESULTS The corrected visual acuity of 36 eyes (58 1%) was 0 5 or more among 62 eyes. The intraocular pressure of 54 eyes (87 1%) was decreased to 18 mmHg or lower, and corneal edema occurred in 11 eyes after surgery. CONCLUSIONS Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy were available in treatment of patients with cataract combined with glaucoma.
