Abstract
Objective To study the clinical significance of expression of CD44v6 in non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods By using SP immunohistochemical method with anti CD44v6 monoclonal antibody, the expression of CD44v6 in 65 cases NSCLC and its correlations with pathological types, metastatic states of lymph nodes, size of tumor mass and clinical stages were studied. Results The total positive rate (66 2 %) of CD44v6 expression in NSCLC was much higher than that in adjacent normal tissues (7 7 %), and it also correlated with the stages of lymph nodes involved and the clinical staging ( P 0 05), but had no correlation with pathological types. Conclusion The data demonstrated that expression of CD44v6 might be used as an objective indicator for the metastatic potency. extent of invation and the prognosis in NSCLC.
