Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of Hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha (Hif-1α) in placenta and it's role in the mechanism of fetal asphyxia with Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy(ICP). Methods The expression of Hif-1αin 18 placentas from pregnancy women with ICP (7 severe ICP and 11 light ICP) and 18 placentas from normal pregancy was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression level of Hif-1α in ICP group was significant higher than that in contral group(p0.05), furthermore, it had a positive correlation with the ICP level.(r=0.048,p0.01).Conclusions It do exist that ICP can induce fetal- placental anoxia. The high expression of Hif-1α may be one inportant factor of the hypoxia pathogenesis and play an essential role in the fetal asphyxia with ICP .
