Abstract
Objective: To explore the expression of leptin on the placenta of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP). Methods: S-P immunohistochemical technique was used. Results: (1)Placentas obtained from women with ICP had swelling and fibrinoid of necrosis of villi, increasing of syncytial sprouts, being thick of vasculo-syncytial membrane(VSM) and reducing of the size of the intervillous space under lingt microscopy. (2)Leptin expressed in both of the cytoplasm of villous trophoblast cells of placenta in women with and without ICP. But, its expression was different between the ICP and normal pregnancy (P0.05).Furthermore, a difference between the mild and severe ICP was found. Conclusion: The abnormal expression of placental leptin may play a role in the etioloty of ICP.
