Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the validity and security of insulinglargine combined with nateglinide in the treatment of aged patients with type 2 diabetes.METHODS Twenty-four aged patients with type 2 diabetes under unsatisfied blood sugar control using sulfon-ylureas were treated by insulin glargine combined with nateglinide. The values of fasting blood glucose(FBG),2h postprandial blood glucose(2hBG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HBAlc) before and afterthe treatment were observed.RESULTS The levels of FBG,2hBG and HBA1c decreased obviously(P0.01)after 3 months′ treatment.CONCLUSION Insulin glargine combined with nateglinide can be used effectively and safely to treat T2DM patients aged greater than 60 years old.
