Abstract
[Objective]To analyze the prevalence and epidemic tendency of HIV/AIDS in Xinxiang and provide epidemic basis for the management of HIV/AIDS prevalence and establishment of preventive countermeasures.[Methods]All the data collected since 1995 about routine AIDS surveillance,on-site surveillance and case investigation was statistically analyzed.[Results] The accumulated report during 1995—2006 showed that 308 cases were HIV-infected,66.88%(206 cases) of which were attacked by AIDS,93 cases(30.19%) died.Most of the infected patients were adolescent peasants infected mainly through blood transmission,which indicated obvious regional feature.[Conclusion]Preventive work against AIDS should be strengthened in this city in order to hold back the spread of AIDS.
